Taiwan's economy ministry approved twenty-seven drone research grants totaling approximately TWD780 million, CNA reported on October 9. AIDC's heavy-payload logistics-drone project receives TWD100 million, the year's largest individual award. Forty-nine applications were submitted, with about fifty-five percent approved as support expands beyond components.

Six projects concern complete aircraft and twenty-one address technologies including payloads, communications, propulsion and flight control. AIDC will develop GPS-independent navigation, resilient communications and autonomous control for potential island supply, rescue and remote-area delivery. The announcement provides research funding; it does not establish completed product validation, commercial flight approval or the operational readiness of every proposed application.
