Shield AI announced on October 8 a USD150 million US Navy modification supporting exportability features for X-BAT, matched by USD150 million of company investment. Separate August commitments of USD50 million each from government and company bring announced public and private commitments to USD400 million. That total is not all Navy funding.
A September letter of intent with Poland's PGZ and WZL-2 covers prospective design, production, delivery and sustainment cooperation, with definitive agreements still required. X-BAT is an AI-piloted vertical-takeoff fighter concept using Hivemind autonomy. Flight testing is planned to begin this year; funding and industrial discussions do not establish a production procurement or entry into combat service.
