Aerospace Global News reported that nearly 300 flights to and from Riyadh were cancelled or did not operate on Thursday. The report cited Cirium figures reported by Khaleej Times: 169 of 378 scheduled departures from King Khalid International Airport were cancelled or did not operate, representing about 45% of departures.
A further 124 of 369 scheduled arrivals were cancelled or did not operate. The report put the combined total at 293 flights, or approximately 39% of the airport’s planned services. Saudia had 97 of its 140 scheduled departures and 87 of its 136 scheduled arrivals cancelled or not operating. The figures distinguish departures from arrivals and describe flights that were either cancelled or did not operate.
