Saudia Group has completed its assessment of aircraft needed for growth and replacement and is awaiting board approval to start a request-for-proposals process, AeroTime reported from a Bloomberg interview. Strategy executive Sanjiv Kapoor said the prospective purchase would serve both Saudia and flyadeal, with first deliveries expected in 2031.
Kapoor did not disclose a confirmed aircraft total and said the order might be placed together or in stages. This is procurement planning ahead of an RFP, rather than an announced firm contract. Earlier market reports about possible quantities and types should not be treated as details confirmed by this interview. The new proposal is also separate from aircraft already on order.
