Mandarin Airlines and the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra signed a cabin-music licensing agreement on October 7. From October 10, passengers will hear NTSO recordings, including Taiwanese folk melodies rotated monthly during boarding. The partnership aims to bring locally recorded orchestral music into the airline's domestic-flight experience.
After landing, the carrier will use Johann Strauss II's overture to Die Fledermaus as its farewell music. A string quartet performed at the signing event at Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA). The airline's chairman also expressed interest in future live performances at airports or aboard aircraft. Those performances remain an aspiration; the confirmed arrangement is the recorded-music program beginning October 10.
