Mandarin Airlines chairman Chen Ta-chun said on October 7 that the carrier does not plan to request further reductions on its Hualien routes. Kaohsiung (KHH) to Hualien (HUN) has fallen from seven to five weekly flights, while Taichung (RMQ) to Hualien remains at three. Reported loads are still around twenty to thirty percent.

Released capacity will support island services, particularly Kaohsiung to Penghu (MZG). Chen also said a Taipei–Kaohsiung service could be evaluated, provided charter planning and procedures for low-demand cancellations are arranged in advance. The transport ministry would respect airlines' commercial assessments. These comments describe a possibility for evaluation, rather than a confirmed relaunch or a ticket-sales announcement.
