Lufthansa Group announced on October 6 that its airlines will offer up to fifty weekly flights to Japan in summer 2027. Lufthansa will restore Frankfurt (FRA) to Nagoya Chubu (NGO) three times weekly from March 29 and add a daily Tokyo Narita (NRT) service from March 28.
Both Lufthansa routes are planned with Allegris-configured Boeing 787-9s. SWISS will increase Zurich (ZRH) to Narita to as many as seven weekly flights. The group total includes Lufthansa, Austrian, SWISS and ITA Airways, serving Haneda (HND), Narita, Osaka and Nagoya. Fifty is a future maximum across the group, rather than a current frequency operated by Lufthansa alone.
