The FAA approved JetBlue's USD58.5 million acquisition of twenty-two former Spirit slots at New York LaGuardia (LGA) on October 6, Aerospace Global News reports. JetBlue won a bankruptcy auction and received court approval in July, subject to regulatory clearance. This transfers operating rights rather than reviving the blocked purchase of the entire airline.

The package comprises twelve departure and ten arrival authorizations, not twenty-two round-trip pairs. Minimum-use requirements are waived through April 2027, with restrictions on leasing or trading the slots before April 2028. JetBlue has not announced destinations, and approval does not mean all additional flights start immediately or increase the airport's overall permitted operations.
