Airbus announced a firm Biman Bangladesh Airlines order on October 7 for ten aircraft: four A350-900 widebodies and six A321neo single-aisle jets. The airline intends to use the A350 for long-haul growth from Dhaka, while the A321neo supports regional and medium-haul markets with a different capacity and range profile.

The manufacturer says the fleet will support Biman's plans for North America, Europe and the Middle East. The confirmed mix differs from earlier discussion of an all-A350 purchase, and no completed deliveries were announced. Airbus's efficiency comparisons refer to previous-generation competing aircraft; they should not be presented as reductions already achieved across Biman's entire operation.
