EVA Air is continuing to refresh its long-haul in-flight entertainment offering. The carrier's current moving-map information confirms that Panasonic Avionics' Arc™ 3D map is available on its Boeing 787 fleet, while Boeing 777-300ER aircraft are scheduled for phased upgrades. The interactive application adds three-dimensional views and destination content alongside conventional flight progress information.
EVA Air began introducing Panasonic 3D moving maps on selected Boeing 777-300ER and 787 aircraft in 2018. According to fleet-upgrade information supplied for this report, the relevant 777-300ER registrations fall within the B-16718 to B-16740 range, although the airline has not published an aircraft-by-aircraft upgrade list. Earlier moving maps already provided position, altitude, journey progress and estimated arrival information; Arc 3D expands the visual detail and interactivity.
EVA Air announced the Arc 3D rollout on December 18, 2025, initially targeting service introduction from the first quarter of 2026. Panasonic Avionics followed with an announcement on May 13, 2026, identifying the Boeing 787, 777-300ER and future Airbus A350-1000 fleet as part of the program. EVA Air's current service page lists the system on the 787 fleet and says 777-300ER upgrades will follow.
The new interface offers high-definition 3D mapping and more than 15 viewing angles, including window-side, overhead, aircraft-following and cockpit-style perspectives. Street-level maps for selected cities also allow passengers to explore destination attractions during their flight.
Arc for Young Explorers adds dinosaur-themed animations and real-time flight data, offering families an educational view of the areas beneath the aircraft. Arc Vistas provides animated scenic displays. These are enhancements to the passenger entertainment interface, not changes to the aircraft's flight-deck navigation equipment.
Rollout information provided for this report indicates that the first aircraft fitted in each fleet will undergo several days of functional testing to check map displays and operation. EVA Air and Panasonic Avionics have not publicly identified those test aircraft, their test dates or a registration-by-registration completion schedule for the 777-300ERs. Actual availability remains aircraft-dependent.
EVA Air and Panasonic Avionics also announced a 54-aircraft entertainment and connectivity agreement in 2024. That agreement included Astrova seatback entertainment installations on 14 existing 777-300ERs and 18 incoming A350-1000s. Arc 3D is a moving-map application, and its rollout should not be taken to mean that every aircraft receiving the software has also completed a full seatback-screen replacement.
