Saudia and Riyadh Air are routing passengers travelling to Riyadh through Al Qassim Airport, with onward road journeys taking more than four hours. King Khalid International Airport reopened on 18 October but remains subject to operational restrictions.
Riyadh Air has arranged special flights from London Heathrow (LHR), Madrid and Bangkok to Al Qassim on Thursday, 22 October, for passengers affected by the disruption. Arriving passengers will continue to Riyadh by complimentary bus; the transfer is included in the flight ticket and requires no separate reservation. The services remain subject to operational changes. NOTAM A3650/26 requires aircraft operators to obtain prior permission from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation before landing or departing.
