Photographs released by Armenia’s Ministry of Defense show Defense Minister Suren Papikyan inspecting an L-39 Skyfox bearing Armenian Air Force markings. During a visit to Aero Vodochody’s factory on October 20, 2026, Papikyan wrote on Facebook that the aircraft would “soon” fly in Armenia.
Czech news agency ČTK reported on October 21, 2026, that up to four aircraft could be delivered to Armenia in the coming weeks. An Aero spokesperson said the company was not authorized to comment on details of its commercial cooperation. Neither side has formally disclosed the number of aircraft ordered, the contract value or a delivery schedule.
