Dutch flying car developer PAL-V confirmed on September 7, 2026, that it has secured its European Production Organization Approval (POA) from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). According to the company, this milestone represents a significant step toward bringing its certified FlyDrive mobility solutions to the commercial market, granting it the authorization to manufacture aviation products.
PAL-V stated that it is the first FlyDrive developer within the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector to receive this approval, placing the company ahead of rival initiatives in both the United States and China. Robert Dingemanse, CEO of PAL-V, emphasized that obtaining the POA confirms the company has established a world-class organization capable of developing, certifying, and manufacturing airworthy products based on its proprietary platform.
Headquartered in Raamsdonksveer, the developer also holds automotive production approvals, which allow it to manufacture its products on an industrial scale. The latest POA follows several other critical certification achievements, including the receipt of a "No Technical Objection" statement from EASA in 2025. The company stated that these milestones validate nearly two decades of development, certification, and regulatory expertise.
The manufacturer expects to begin the initial deliveries of its flying car in 2028. PAL-V reported that its current reservation portfolio is already sufficient to cover the first three years of production capacity. This backlog includes a March 2024 order for 100 units from Aviterra, a Dubai-based aerospace firm backed by the owners of executive aviation firm Jetex. In flight, the vehicle has a stated maximum speed of 180 km/h and an operational range of 500 km.
