Boeing reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $24.2 billion, up 4 percent from a year earlier, and a net loss of $116 million, narrowing sharply from a $5.3 billion loss in the same quarter of 2025. GAAP loss per share was $0.26, compared with $7.14 a year earlier. Operating cash flow was $1.5 billion and free cash flow was $0.5 billion, while total company backlog grew to a record $745 billion, including more than 6,300 commercial airplanes.

In commercial airplanes, the 737-7 received amended type certification from the FAA during the quarter and the 737-10 received certification in October. The division delivered 161 airplanes in the quarter, booked 300 net orders, and ended with a commercial backlog valued at a record $612 billion. Boeing also said it was selected by the U.S. Navy to design, build and deliver the F/A-XX next-generation fighter aircraft, although that order is not yet included in backlog pending completion of the source selection and evaluation review process.

Defense, Space & Security revenue rose 15 percent to $7.9 billion, with operating earnings of $492 million that included a $252 million gain on the sale of HRL Laboratories, while Global Services revenue rose 4 percent to $5.6 billion. Boeing president and chief executive Kelly Ortberg described the 737-7 and 737-10 certifications and the Navy fighter selection as important steps, while noting the company remains focused on safety and quality and on disciplined execution.
