Etihad Airways confirmed on 26 October 2026 that its first Airbus A380‑800 had arrived safely at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) after a five‑and‑a‑half‑hour flight from Abu Dhabi Zayed Airport (AUH), marking the carrier’s inaugural A380 service to Thailand.
Flightradar24 data logged the 11‑year‑old A380, registration A6‑APD, landing in Bangkok on 25 October 2026 at 07:20 local time; the aircraft has since returned to Abu Dhabi and is scheduled to depart again at 21:45.
The airline announced in February 2026 that the Abu Dhabi–Bangkok route would be served by its largest aircraft. Chief Executive Antonoaldo Neves called the arrival a “significant milestone” and highlighted Thailand as a key premium market, saying the flagship jet will increase capacity and deliver Etihad’s most distinctive guest experience.
The cabin features The Residence three‑room suite, nine first‑class private cabins, 70 business‑class seats on the upper deck, and 415 economy seats with 18.95‑inch width, six‑inch recline and 32‑inch legroom.
The launch coincides with the start of the winter travel peak, supporting strong demand between Thailand, the Middle East and Europe and strengthening connectivity through Abu Dhabi.
