On 27 October 2026 Atlantic Airways, the national carrier of the Faroe Islands, signed a firm order with Airbus for two A320neo aircraft, furthering its plan to transition to an all‑neo fleet.

Chairman Niels Mortensen said: “Our ambition is to operate an exclusively A320neo aircraft fleet in the near future, and this agreement marks a significant step towards achieving that goal,” with a target of completing the fleet renewal by 2030.

The airline currently operates two A320‑200s and two A320neos from Vágar Airport (FAE), the Faroe Islands’ sole airport. The new order brings its total A320neo commitments to four aircraft.

The purchase is part of a long‑term investment plan worth up to DKK 2 billion (approximately US$298 million). Deliveries of the two newly ordered jets are scheduled for the early next decade.

Airbus Executive Vice President of Commercial Aircraft Sales Benoît de Saint‑Exupéry welcomed the deal, noting that the additional A320neo aircraft will reinforce regional connectivity and support efficient links for Faroese communities.
