The Civil Aviation Administration’s latest published violation information says Taiwan Tigerair was fined NT$200,000 under the Civil Aviation Act after an inspection control deadline for the No. 2 engine’s combustion-chamber deferred defect passed. The authority also required immediate improvement.
Taiwan Tigerair said aircraft B-50023 had a discrepancy in the calculation of the control time during flight scheduling in September last year. The airline said its Safety Management System (SMS) self-audit identified the discrepancy. It completed the engine inspection that day, confirmed the condition met safety requirements and promptly reported the matter to the regulator. Taiwan Tigerair also said it reviewed the event, made improvements and strengthened its dual-check mechanism.
