National Security Council Deputy Secretary-General Lin Fei-fan said at the Presidential Office's Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience Forum on 19 September that Taiwan is actively building a "non-red" drone supply chain, with many Ukrainian contacts seeking to reduce reliance on Chinese drone components.
Lin stated Taiwan's drone exports grew 55-fold in the past year, with Poland and the Czech Republic as the largest buyers, and that Taiwan can produce 100% domestically made components. Diplomatic and visa hurdles make sending personnel to Ukraine difficult, but Taiwan can host Ukrainian visitors. The government is also advancing a Drone Special Act and supplementary budget to procure three types of drones urgently needed by the Ministry of National Defense.
