On September 1, JetBlue launched BlueFirst, a domestic first‑class product that adds up to seven inches of legroom, 13.3‑inch screens, Bluetooth, power outlets and upgraded meals.

The next day American Airlines unveiled a reconfigured Boeing 777‑300ER with 144 premium seats, including 70 Flagship Suite business‑class suites, 44 premium‑economy and 30 extra‑legroom seats, and said premium seating on narrow‑body flights will rise from about 25% to 40%.

Southwest Airlines simultaneously announced plans for its first airport lounges, marking a premium push across the three largest U.S. carriers.

American also confirmed that Flagship First will no longer be sold on the 777‑300ER for travel from November 19, focusing instead on expanded business‑class suites.
