A LATAM Airlines Airbus A320 (ICAO type code A320), registration CC-BFS, was evacuated after an engine fire while on the tarmac at Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) in Lima, Peru, on October 19, 2026. The aircraft was taxiing toward the runway as it prepared to operate flight LA 2302 to Piura (PIU). The report said the fire began in the port-side CFM56 engine; its cause has not been established.
All passengers and crew evacuated, and no one was injured. LATAM Airlines has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
