Hawaiian Airlines said it welcomed 258 travelers with disabilities and their families aboard an Airbus A330 in Honolulu on October 18, 2026. The event took place at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL). The airline described it as the largest disability practice flight ever held, and said it was the carrier’s first practice flight in Honolulu since 2016.
Participants practiced airport steps including check-in, receiving boarding passes, passing through security, finding the gate and boarding. The A330 pushed back, taxied around the airport and returned without taking off. Hawaiian Airlines said the event was designed to help participants become more comfortable with air travel.
