Atlantic Airways, the national airline of the Faroe Islands, has signed a firm order with Airbus for two A320neo aircraft. The order supports the airline's transition toward an all-A320neo fleet, which Airbus says will bring operational synergies and streamlined maintenance.

The airline currently operates four A320 Family aircraft, comprising two A320ceo and two A320neo. Atlantic Airways says the agreement marks a significant step toward operating an exclusively A320neo fleet in the near future, while Airbus says the additional aircraft reinforce the airline's commitment to regional connectivity for Faroese communities. Airbus notes the A320 Family has won more than 20,400 orders worldwide and offers at least 20% fuel savings and CO2 reduction compared with previous-generation single-aisle aircraft.
