Lufthansa’s Discover Airlines confirmed on 28 October 2026 the retirement of its last Airbus A330‑200 (registration D‑AXGE). The aircraft operated the final commercial flight 4Y51 from Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Frankfurt Airport (FRA), landing at 06:36 local time after an almost seven‑hour overnight sector.
The 22‑year‑old jet was delivered to Qatar Airways in 2004, moved to SunExpress in Germany in 2016, and SunExpress ceased operations in 2020. CFO Marcel Chmielorz noted that D‑AXGE operated Discover Airlines’ very first passenger flight in July 2021, closing a key chapter in the carrier’s long‑haul history.
According to ch‑aviation, the fleet now comprises 18 Airbus A320‑200s and 15 A330‑300s. Starting mid‑2027, Discover Airlines is scheduled to begin receiving 13 Airbus A350‑900s.
