Airbus announced on 28 October 2026 that it has officially finalised the establishment of 'Alpha Component Solutions', a 50-50 joint venture created with Air France to deliver dedicated component support for the Airbus A350 long-range widebody aircraft family. The newly created entity will assist global operators in maintaining fleet availability and servicing critical aircraft components.
The new entity will be operated jointly between Airbus and Air France-KLM to manage a worldwide shared-access pool. The collaboration is structured to provide comprehensive aircraft component assets, maintenance services, supply chain management, and repair capabilities for global Airbus A350 customers.
By leveraging the combined capabilities of Airbus' Flight Hours Services (FHS) and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M), the joint venture provides an enhanced solution to address the expanding long-term component maintenance requirements of the global A350 fleet. The enterprise already contractually supports more than 500 aircraft with a worldwide footprint ready to serve operators.
Anne Brachet, Executive Vice President of Air France-KLM Engineering & Maintenance, stated that reliable access to components is essential for maintaining fleet availability and operational performance. She highlighted that combining firsthand airline operational experience with Airbus' FHS capabilities allows Alpha Component Solutions to deliver a broader support network tailored to airline needs.
Cristina Aguilar Grieder, Senior Vice President of Customer Services Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, noted that the strategic partnership represents a major step forward in enhancing A350 aftermarket support by uniting the expertise and resources of both companies to deliver optimised solutions worldwide.
Airbus indicated that the joint venture combines operational excellence with advanced supply chain capabilities to drive higher component reliability, streamline lifecycle maintenance, and deliver tailored support to bolster long-term operational resilience for airlines.
