Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced it will reopen its renovated domestic lounges and a dedicated security checkpoint in the North Wing of Terminal 1 at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) on October 8, 2026.

The reopening completes the overhaul of the North Wing's priority departure facilities, following the launch of new dedicated check-in counters on July 24, 2026.

As part of the update, JAL has renamed its Diamond Premier Lounge the JAL First Class Lounge. The same change will be rolled out progressively at New Chitose Airport (CTS), Osaka Itami Airport (ITM), Fukuoka Airport (FUK) and Naha Airport (OKA).

Both lounges have been redesigned around dedicated areas for dining, relaxation and work. JAL said the JAL First Class Lounge has increased seating capacity by about 1.4 times.
