Discovery Channel's new documentary "Engineering Pioneers: Aviation Guardians" offers an in-depth look at China Airlines' maintenance factory, covering the process of disassembly, inspection, reinstallation and testing with layered verification to reveal the carrier's maintenance and flight safety system, talent development, and safety culture.
Highlights were shown at a press conference attended by Chairman Kao Shing-Huang and General Manager Chen Han-Ming. The documentary also features the carrier's 24-hour maintenance monitoring center and its ground team's real-time fleet monitoring.
The maintenance training center uses Mixed Reality (MR) and simulation equipment to train new maintenance personnel. Kao said money and equipment can be borrowed or bought, but people must be cultivated and are the key to sustainable operations.
