Vietnamese low-cost carrier VietJet Air has adjusted its 2026 Northern Hemisphere winter schedule, reducing frequencies on a number of international routes from late October through early December. In the Taiwan market, the changes affect Hanoi services to Kaohsiung and Taichung, as well as Ho Chi Minh City services to Kaohsiung, Taichung and Taoyuan. Timetable data indicates that most of the reductions are limited to specific periods, while some previously planned increases after December 10 remain unchanged for now.
On the Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport (HAN)–Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) route, service is set to fall from the originally planned 10 weekly flights to five per week between October 27 and December 9, before increasing to seven weekly flights from December 4. The current plan to raise frequencies to 14 flights per week, equivalent to twice daily, from December 10 remains unchanged.
The Hanoi–Taichung International Airport (RMQ) route is scheduled to drop from 11 weekly flights to seven between October 25 and December 9, with a further reduction to five weekly flights from November 6 before returning to seven per week from December 6. As with the Kaohsiung route, the system currently still shows the previously planned increase to 14 weekly flights from December 10.
Taiwan routes from Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) are also being adjusted. Ho Chi Minh City–Kaohsiung is expected to decrease from daily service, or seven flights per week, to four weekly flights between October 25 and December 7. Ho Chi Minh City–Taichung will likewise be reduced from seven to four weekly flights between October 25 and December 6.
The Ho Chi Minh City–Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) route also shows a temporary reduction, falling from the previously planned seven weekly flights to four per week between October 25 and December 4. This change was not included in AeroRoutes' October 2 list of VietJet regional frequency reductions for November and December, so it should be considered separately from the Taiwan routes listed there. Some third-party timetable databases may still display an earlier daily schedule, and actual operations should be checked against the airline's latest bookable inventory.
The adjustments are not limited to the Taiwan market. AeroRoutes data shows that VietJet is also reducing frequencies during the same period on several regional Asian routes, including Da Nang–Seoul Incheon, Hanoi–Singapore, Hanoi–Seoul Incheon, Ho Chi Minh City–Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City–Busan and Phu Quoc–Seoul Incheon, indicating a broader capacity adjustment for the early winter season.
VietJet had also adjusted some flights during September and October 2026, and AeroRoutes noted that those earlier changes were not individually included in its report. For schedules after December 10 that currently remain in place, including planned increases to 14 weekly flights on Hanoi–Kaohsiung and Hanoi–Taichung, further changes remain possible depending on future booking-system updates and the airline's actual capacity plans.
