According to a report published by aviation news website Simple Flying, Alaska Airlines has agreed to pay a $500,000 settlement to resolve a legal dispute. This lawsuit was brought against the carrier involving vacation accrual policies for its pilot workforce.
The legal action was initiated after Alaska Airlines refused military leave for over 160 pilots. Specifically, the resolved lawsuit involved vacation accrual for 163 pilots during their qualifying military leave periods.
To settle the lawsuit, Alaska Airlines will pay the total of $500,000. This settlement addresses the dispute over the pilot benefits and vacation accrual during qualifying military leave.
