All Nippon Airways (ANA) has officially launched international passenger operations with its newest Pokémon-themed aircraft, the "Green Pokémon Jet." The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, registered as JA923A, was scheduled to make its inaugural international flight on September 18, 2026, operating flight NH186 from Tokyo Haneda to Honolulu. The flight departed Tokyo at 9:55 p.m. local time, marking the start of regular passenger service for the airline's latest specially painted long-haul aircraft.

The external livery of the Boeing 787-9 is centered around Grass-type Pokémon, featuring Pikachu alongside popular characters such as Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Treecko, Turtwig, Snivy, Chespin, Rowlet, Grookey, and Sprigatito. ANA has also integrated the theme throughout the passenger cabin. Premium Economy and Economy Class seats feature Pokémon headrest covers, and passengers are served using custom-designed cups and napkins. Additionally, thematic background music is played onboard during long-haul operations.

Unlike ANA's "Red Pokémon Jet"—a Boeing 787-8 introduced into domestic service in July—the Green Pokémon Jet has been assigned exclusively to international routes through March 27, 2027. Potential international destinations from Tokyo Haneda include Honolulu, Seattle, Vancouver, Sydney, Manila, Singapore, Delhi, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur. Flights operating out of Tokyo Narita may include routes to Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Perth, and Mumbai. However, no flights are currently scheduled to destinations in Europe.

This latest initiative coincides with the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Red and Green and the 40th anniversary of ANA's international operations, continuing a collaboration between the airline and the franchise that began in 1998. The current generation of Pokémon aircraft comprises three jets: the domestic Boeing 787-8 (JA819A) Red Pokémon Jet, the newly launched international Boeing 787-9 (JA923A) Green Pokémon Jet, and an upcoming domestic Boeing 737-800 (JA56AN) Blue Pokémon Jet featuring Water-type Pokémon.
