The Taoyuan Flight Attendants Union stated that China Airlines, EVA Airways, and STARLUX Airlines have agreed to stop displaying frontline employees' full names on name tags to protect personal privacy. A survey conducted by aviation unions revealed that nearly 40 percent of cabin and ground staff experienced harassment due to full-name disclosures on tags, with over 98 percent supporting the policy change.
Under the updated plans, China Airlines will display surnames alongside first-name initials or aliases starting in March 2027, with Mandarin Airlines following the same approach. STARLUX Airlines agreed to adjust name tags with details to be finalized. EVA Airways announced it will reissue name tags in the first half of 2027, featuring employee surnames combined with staff ID numbers.
