China Airlines launched its exclusive charter service between Kaohsiung and Takamatsu on September 17, 2026. Operating three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, the charter flights provide direct air connectivity from southern Taiwan to Japan's Shikoku region.

The carrier also expanded its Kaohsiung to Okinawa route to a daily frequency starting September 17. Furthermore, China Airlines plans to introduce a new service between Kaohsiung and Seoul Gimpo on October 1, operating three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Combined with four weekly flights to Seoul Incheon, China Airlines will offer daily flights between Kaohsiung and South Korea.

According to China Airlines, Airbus A321neo aircraft stationed in Kaohsiung offer premium economy and economy cabin configurations. The aircraft serve regular flights to Manila and Okinawa, as well as the Takamatsu charter flights.
