French boutique airline La Compagnie has announced plans to launch all-business-class non-stop flights between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) starting in spring 2027. The scheduled transatlantic service is expected to operate up to five times per week during the summer season, addressing strong demand for premium transatlantic travel between the New York metropolitan area and North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany's most populous state.
The carrier intends to deploy an Airbus A321LR aircraft on the route, configured with 76 lie-flat business-class seats arranged in a 2-2 layout. Passengers traveling on the service will receive access to full onboard amenities, including unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi connection, dedicated inflight entertainment, complimentary meals, and Champagne service throughout the flight.
The network expansion to Düsseldorf coincides with the scheduled arrival of a third Airbus A321LR aircraft to the airline's fleet in 2027. Furthermore, La Compagnie plans to add a fourth aircraft, an Airbus A321XLR, to its fleet in 2028. According to the airline, these newer aircraft are expected to be quieter and up to 30 percent more fuel-efficient than previous-generation models, while offering extended flight range for future transatlantic routes.
Ground accommodations at the airports will provide passengers with dedicated lounge access. Customers departing from Düsseldorf Airport will have access to the DUS Sky Lounge located in Pier C, while passengers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport will be able to use the airline's dedicated Lounge&Co facility prior to boarding.
La Compagnie currently operates transatlantic non-stop flights from Newark to Paris Orly, Nice Côte d’Azur, and Milan Malpensa, and has also extended its New York to Nice service into the winter season for the first time. Upon launching the new service in 2027, La Compagnie will become the only airline offering a direct, non-stop flight connection between New York and Düsseldorf.
