Joby Aviation has begun a month-long tour across the US to demonstrate the capabilities of its autonomous aircraft, travelling from California to the East Coast and back through a series of stops in 10 states.
The tour, part of Joby's 2026 'Electric Skies' programme, is designed to showcase the real-world operational maturity of the company's autonomous flight system and its potential applications in both civilian and defence operations.
The J208, a converted Cessna Grand Caravan equipped with the company's autonomous flight technology, has completed more than 400 flights and accumulated more than 800 hours of automated flight time. Its autonomy system originated with Xwing, a company acquired by Joby in 2024.
