Paris, France, 10 September 2026 – Eutelsat has ordered 229 more satellites from Airbus to strengthen its OneWeb constellation, announced during the International Space Summit in Paris.
Eutelsat has signed an Authorisation to Proceed (ATP) with Airbus Defence and Space covering initial industrial activities for these 229 satellites.
The satellites are planned in addition to the 440 satellites already procured from Airbus, which are due for delivery and launch soon. This brings the total of new OneWeb satellites manufactured by Airbus to 669.
The satellites will be manufactured at Airbus Defence and Space’s Toulouse facility, with the aim of ensuring service continuity of the OneWeb constellation and progressively replacing early batches nearing the end of their operational life.
