China Airlines and EVA Airways both recorded their second-highest monthly consolidated revenues on record in August 2026, driven by peak summer travel demand, fare adjustments reflecting fuel costs, and strong momentum in shipments of AI servers and semiconductor equipment. China Airlines reported August consolidated revenue of NT$21.948 billion, representing a 27.22 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Meanwhile, EVA Airways generated consolidated revenue of NT$22.891 billion for the month, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.92 percent.
For China Airlines, August passenger revenue reached NT$12.445 billion, up 19.24 percent year-on-year and setting a record high for the corresponding period, with Northeast Asian routes delivering the strongest load factors. The carrier's cargo revenue reached NT$7.52 billion, marking a 36.06 percent year-on-year growth. Despite minor demand slowdowns and flight adjustments caused by typhoons and summer holidays in Europe and Japan, China Airlines noted robust demand for high-tech cargo charters and plans to capture high-value block space and charter opportunities as peak season approaches.
EVA Airways achieved a record-high monthly passenger revenue of NT$14.208 billion in August, up 21.06 percent year-on-year, while its cargo revenue reached NT$5.845 billion, a 28.72 percent year-on-year gain. The airline reported average load factors exceeding 90 percent on long-haul routes from Taiwan to Europe and North America, while demand across Northeast and Southeast Asian routes remained elevated. For the first eight months of the year, EVA Airways accumulated NT$109.369 billion in passenger revenue and NT$173.630 billion in consolidated revenue, both reaching all-time highs for the period.
To meet growing passenger demand, EVA Airways announced schedule expansions on regional routes from Taoyuan. Between September 21 and October 11, the airline will add extra flights on the Taoyuan to Incheon route using Airbus A333 and Boeing 777 aircraft, raising weekly frequency from 14 to 18 flights. Additionally, starting October 25, 2026, EVA Airways will increase its Taoyuan to Hangzhou service from 3 to 5 weekly flights using Airbus A321 aircraft.
