Simple Flying reported on October 25 that Germany approved daily Emirates services between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in September 2026. Berlin would become the airline's fifth German passenger destination.
The approval limits Emirates to seven weekly flights and does not grant fifth-freedom rights. It covers direct services between Dubai and Berlin rather than permission to carry passengers between Berlin and a third country.
Citing AeroTime, the report says Emirates plans to use Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for its proposed German services until the 777-9 is ready. The initial Berlin aircraft plan relies on the existing 777-300ER fleet rather than waiting for 777X deliveries.
For its longer-term fleet renewal, Emirates has 270 Boeing 777X aircraft on order, with deliveries expected in the second quarter of 2027 according to the report.
