Lufthansa officially retired its last Airbus A340-600 on 18 October 2026, ending more than two decades of commercial operation of the type with the airline.

On the same day, aviation outlet Simple Flying published a guide listing the airports and carriers worldwide that still operate passenger A340 aircraft, giving spotters a reference for remaining sightings.

Earlier reports indicated that Lufthansa had announced on 12 October a final transatlantic flight to complete the A340-600 retirement process; the guide covers multiple airlines and major hubs to help photographers plan their shoots.
