Starlux Airlines reported its financial performance for August 2026, generating revenue of NT$5.579 billion, which represents a 48% increase compared to the same period last year. Accumulated revenue for the first eight months reached NT$39.86 billion, up 34% year-on-year. Passenger revenue in August reached NT$4.312 billion, marking a 45% increase, while cargo revenue rose 41% to NT$672 million, driven by sustained shipment demand for artificial intelligence and semiconductor products from Asia to North America.
Tigerair Taiwan recorded August revenue of NT$1.788 billion, up 22% year-on-year and setting a new historic high for the month. Benefiting from strong travel demand during the summer peak season, the carrier achieved an average load factor of nearly 94%, the highest in its operational history. For the first eight months of 2026, flights increased by 10.8% compared to the prior year with an average load factor of 91%, generating total revenue of NT$13.883 billion.
Regarding route network expansion, Starlux Airlines deployed Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on its Taipei to Prague route starting in September following its August launch. The carrier established an interline agreement with Smartwings taking effect on October 1, enabling through-checked baggage services for passengers. Starlux Airlines will launch flights from Taichung to Sapporo and Nagoya in October, followed by new routes connecting Kaohsiung to Kobe and Okinawa starting January 1, 2027, bringing weekly operations from central and southern Taiwan to 82 flights.
For the upcoming winter schedule, Starlux Airlines plans to increase frequencies and deploy widebody Airbus A330neo aircraft on routes from Taipei to Hakodate, Chiang Mai, Kuala Lumpur, and Hanoi. High-demand North American services from Taipei to Ontario and Phoenix will increase to five weekly flights during peak periods. Meanwhile, Tigerair Taiwan inaugurated flights from Kaohsiung to Komatsu and Ishigaki in early September, expanding its network from Kaohsiung to 14 routes.
In technical capabilities, Starlux Airlines announced that it obtained maintenance organization certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) after an 18-month evaluation process. The certification confirms that the airline's maintenance quality, technology, and systems comply with international standards, allowing Starlux Airlines to provide commercial aircraft maintenance services to global customers.
