According to a report by AeroTime, multiple US Air Force aircraft were reportedly damaged during an Iranian ballistic missile attack on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan overnight on September 8 and 9, 2026. Sources indicated that one A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft was severely damaged and lost a wing, while approximately eight F-15E Strike Eagles sustained light damage but remained serviceable.
A spokesperson for the Jordan Armed Forces stated that its air defenses engaged twenty ballistic missiles, destroying eighteen of them, and reported no casualties, without mentioning any airbase damage. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed its strikes targeted maintenance and deployment sites for F-35, F-16, and F-15 aircraft at the base. Neither government has released imagery confirming these claims.
