Major Taiwanese air carriers reported strong revenue performance for July 2026, driven by peak summer travel demand and steady cargo growth. China Airlines posted record-high single-month consolidated and passenger revenues, while EVA Air recorded its second-highest monthly consolidated revenue on record, reflecting robust momentum across both passenger and cargo segments.
China Airlines generated consolidated revenue of NT$22.235 billion in July, representing a 25.34% year-on-year increase. Passenger revenue reached NT$12.635 billion, up 18.63%, while cargo revenue rose 34.72% to NT$7.589 billion. The carrier noted strong travel demand on regional routes to Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Seoul, and Busan during the summer holidays, with booking rates expected to exceed 80% for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival period. Cargo demand was bolstered by shipments of AI servers, semiconductors, and seasonal fresh produce.
For the first half of the year, China Airlines reported record consolidated revenue, with net profit attributable to the parent company reaching NT$6.582 billion and earnings per share (EPS) standing at NT$1.08, both marking the second-highest level for the same period. Despite operational cost pressure from international oil prices influenced by tensions in the Middle East, passenger volume remained strong during holiday periods. Cargo revenue for the first half rose 24.89% year-on-year to NT$40.179 billion, supported by global AI infrastructure expansion. Looking to the second half, China Airlines plans to expand fleet capacity through deliveries of new Airbus A321neo, A350-900, and Boeing 787 aircraft.
EVA Air registered monthly consolidated revenue of NT$22.454 billion in July, an increase of 21.42% year-on-year, marking its second-highest monthly consolidated total on record. July passenger revenue climbed 17.52% to a record high for the period at NT$14.065 billion, while cargo revenue reached NT$6.034 billion, up 32.76%. Over the first seven months of 2026, cumulative passenger revenue reached NT$95.160 billion and consolidated revenue reached NT$150.739 billion, both setting new records for the period.
EVA Air reported average load factors of 85% on long-haul European and North American routes during July, supported by summer travel and family visits. Short-haul North Asian and Southeast Asian routes maintained average load factors near or at 90%, with popular destinations such as Bali, Chiang Mai, Da Nang, and Kuala Lumpur exceeding 95%. EVA Air also announced it will launch a direct route between Taoyuan and Delhi on December 1, operating five flights per week to expand its South Asian footprint and connect with its North American network. On the cargo front, demand for AI equipment and servers supported steady load factors on Americas and Asia routes, offsetting softer European demand impacted by new EU tariff policies.
