Swedish aerospace and defense company Saab unveiled a new uncrewed combat air system concept named A3-001 on August 22, 2026. The concept was publicly presented at the Jubilee Air Show, held at Malmen Air Base near Linköping, Sweden, to mark the 100th anniversary of the Swedish Air Force.

The A3-001 platform is designed to operate alongside manned fighters, such as Saab's Gripen E, in high-risk and contested environments. Featuring low observability and autonomous capabilities, the aircraft is intended for electronic warfare, suppression of enemy air defense, and precision strike missions.

Saab displayed a full-scale mockup at the air show. Peter Nilsson, head of Advanced Programs at Saab, stated that the concept represents a vision for systems from the mid-2030s onwards, with plans to fly uncrewed demonstrators before 2030.
