Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense announced on August 23 that it detected seven Chinese naval vessels and seven official ships operating in the waters around the Taiwan Strait over a 24-hour period. The monitoring period ran from 6:00 a.m. on August 22 to 6:00 a.m. on August 23.

According to the defense ministry's released activity report, no Chinese military aircraft were detected operating around the Taiwan Strait during the same 24-hour timeframe.

The ministry emphasized that the ROC Armed Forces monitored the movements of the vessels using mission aircraft, naval ships, and land-based missile systems to maintain close surveillance and respond accordingly.
