According to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) order, first class passengers will no longer be allowed to sip beverages after aircraft pushback. The regulatory directive requires passenger beverage consumption to cease prior to aircraft movement.

Under the directive, airlines including Delta Air Lines must initiate pre-departure cabin service earlier than before. Airlines are required to ensure that all galley items are fully stowed before aircraft movement begins.

Carriers must adjust their pre-departure timelines to accommodate early service delivery. This operational adjustment ensures that flight attendants can complete beverage service and stow all service equipment in galley compartments before the aircraft pushes back from the gate.
