Starlux Airlines officially launched its Taipei–Prague route on August 1, 2026, marking the carrier's first scheduled European service and making Prague the first destination in Starlux Airlines' entry into the European market. The inaugural flight was piloted personally by Starlux Airlines Chairman Chang Kuo-wei. The route will initially operate 3 flights per week, with plans to increase to 4 flights per week starting in October.
On the day of the inaugural flight, the departure lounge at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) was decorated with Prague city imagery and featured a Jolin Tsai-themed photo area, echoing the promotional collaboration Starlux Airlines launched for this route. Starlux Airlines also simultaneously introduced inaugural gifts and co-branded merchandise related to the Prague route, highlighting its strategy of integrating brand campaigns, passenger experience, and new route promotion.
According to the flight plan previously announced by Starlux Airlines, the outbound service between Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG) is flight JX101, departing in the early morning local time and arriving at dawn. The return flight, JX102, departs from Prague in the morning and arrives back in Taipei the following morning. The route is operated with the Airbus A350-900, a long-range wide-body aircraft configured with multiple cabin classes, suited to the operational requirements of the intercontinental nonstop market.
Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and an important tourism and business city in Central Europe. Direct flight options between Prague and Taiwan have historically been relatively limited, so this launch by Starlux Airlines not only fills the air link between Taiwan and the Czech Republic but also helps connect European tourism, business travel, and transfer demand. For Starlux Airlines, this route represents not only a step in international network expansion but also its formal entry into the European market.
