Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense announced that 18 Chinese military aircraft and vessels were detected operating around the Taiwan Strait between 06:00 on August 21 and 06:00 on August 22, 2026. The tracked total included three aircraft, eight naval vessels, and seven official ships.

According to the defense ministry's activity map, two Chinese main battle aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait median line into northern and southwestern airspace between 16:50 and 18:45 on August 21. Additionally, one Chinese military helicopter was detected operating in Taiwan's northern air defense identification zone between 15:30 and 17:50 on the same day.

In response, Taiwan's armed forces monitored the military activities and responded by deploying mission aircraft, naval vessels, and land-based missile systems.
