STARLUX Airlines officially launched its first direct European route in the early morning of August 1, providing passenger service between Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) in the Czech Republic. The launch of this route marks the expansion of STARLUX's operational network beyond Asia and North America into Central Europe. The inaugural flight carried milestone significance, being personally piloted by STARLUX Airlines Chairman Chang Kuo-wei. STARLUX is deploying Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft on the route, a type noted for its long-range efficiency, cabin comfort, and quiet cabin environment, making it well-suited for intercontinental direct flights. According to the flight schedule, the Prague route will initially operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, before increasing to four weekly flights starting October 1. Outbound flight JX101 departs Taipei at 00:10 and is scheduled to arrive in Prague at 07:50 local time; inbound flight JX102 departs Prague at 10:20 and arrives back in Taipei at 05:10 the following morning. As the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague is not only a tourist destination rich in historical and cultural heritage, but also a major Central European transport and business hub. With semiconductor and other industrial supply chains expanding into Central and Eastern Europe in recent years, commercial exchanges between Taiwan and the Czech Republic have grown increasingly close. The new direct service is expected to reduce travel time previously needed for connections while further strengthening bilateral links in tourism, business, and transit.
