"Air Force Sanchong Village No. 1" in Sanchong, New Taipei City, will hold a "Summer Fireworks BBQ Party" event on August 15, with online registration officially opening today for a limited 50 groups. The event integrates diverse elements including military dependents' village cultural experiences, live street performer entertainment, and distant views of the Dadaocheng fireworks, hoping to bring the public closer to history through soft public engagement. Air Force Sanchong Village No. 1 is the most intact anti-aircraft artillery military dependents' village preserved in northern Taiwan, which historically served as quarters for military dependents of Air Force anti-aircraft artillery units tasked with air defense missions around the capital and Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA). Although this event does not directly involve aviation safety or recent Air Force combat readiness drills, the revitalization and reuse of this site specifically reflects the ongoing efforts toward cultural connections between the Air Force and the local community. Through such public events, it not only helps promote military culture but also allows precious military dependents' village architecture and historical memories to be properly preserved and passed down in a modern metropolis.
