EVA Air General Manager Sun Chia-ming stated that while increases in passenger fares and cargo freight rates have driven overall revenues to record highs, rising jet fuel costs remain the largest variable affecting annual profitability. Due to geopolitical risks, international jet fuel prices previously reached approximately $177 per barrel, significantly impacting industry operating margins.
The airline reported September passenger revenue of NT$11.938 billion, up 28.08% year-on-year, and cargo revenue of NT$6.167 billion, up 42.55%. Consolidated revenue for September reached NT$20.749 billion, representing a 32.86% year-on-year increase and setting a record for the same month. For the first nine months, cumulative passenger revenue reached NT$121.306 billion while cumulative consolidated revenue reached NT$194.38 billion, both marking historic highs for the period.
Regarding passenger operations, travel demand is expected to strengthen further with the approaching Christmas and New Year holidays following September's traditional North American peak season. Passenger load factors across Northeast Asia, Europe, Oceania, and cross-strait routes remain strong. EVA Air plans to launch a route to Delhi, India, in December, with the first two flights already fully booked due to robust passenger volume connecting India with Taiwan and North America.
In air freight, Sun noted that strong export demand for artificial intelligence and high-tech products has eliminated the traditional off-season, keeping freight rates steady and firm. Supply remains tight among Taiwanese carriers, while U.S. airlines have added over 100 charter flights. EVA Air continues to target high-value cargo to boost operational performance.
Separately, the 2026 EVA Air Marathon attracted more than 20,000 international and domestic runners. Certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), the event was selected by Forbes as one of the global top ten feature marathons, routing participants through landmark areas of Taipei City.
