United Airlines has completed the first phase of an expansion at its Denver Flight Training Center following the addition of 40 new CAE flight simulators and training devices. With these new devices in place, the airline now operates 52 full-motion flight simulators and 34 fixed training devices at the facility, supporting training operations for nearly 18,000 active pilots as well as newly hired flight crews.
The 22-acre campus in Denver's Central Park neighborhood features eight buildings comprising nearly 700,000 square feet of training space. According to United Airlines, the facility can accommodate up to 860 pilots per day and conduct more than 32,000 training events annually. The center operates around the clock for 362 days each year, serving as the primary facility where United pilots complete qualification and return every nine months for recurrent training.
As part of the expansion project initiated in 2022, United Airlines opened a new 150,000-square-foot building at the campus in 2024. The airline invested over $145 million in the facility to accommodate additional full-motion simulators, classrooms, and support areas, bringing its total investment in the campus to $370 million since 2016. The expansion project has created more than 300 additional jobs at the training center.
United Airlines is also preparing for a subsequent expansion near Denver International Airport . In July 2026, the Denver City Council approved a rezoning request for undeveloped land purchased by the airline in 2023. United expects to begin construction on the new facility in 2027 and place it into operation by 2030 to run alongside the existing Central Park campus. Since launching its United Next growth strategy in 2021, the airline has hired more than 9,500 pilots, including approximately 700 pilots during the first part of 2026.
