Reuters reports that a US court has delayed a hearing on Google's purchase of Spirit Airlines' internal business data after a union objected to the transaction.

According to previously disclosed court filings, Google won a bankruptcy auction to acquire Spirit Airlines' internal business data for $10 million. The dataset includes operational data covering more than 763,000 flights, while passenger and frequent flyer data are explicitly excluded.

The transaction remains subject to approval by a US bankruptcy judge, with the hearing originally scheduled for 19 August in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The hearing has now been delayed, and a rescheduled date has not yet been confirmed.
